My son did much better when we removed processed foods from his diet. Also, the Omega-3 fatty acids helped him as well. His psychologist gave us an article on malnutrition and ADHD/ADD. It says that many people with the symptoms are missing or low in certain minerals important to brain function. You can get muscle tested to see what your body is needing. Neurofeedback also has great results that tend to be permanent, but is rather pricey.Good luck, I hope you can find something that works for you and doesn't involve medication.

You must first detoxify your body...just google the term, but in the meantime, go on a juice fast for a couple of days, and take psyllium and flax seed too to clean out the digestive system. No artificial ingredients, corn syrup or sugar. Best juices are lemon, grapefruit, salt free veggie. After that, drink lots and lots of liquids, gets lots of exercise and relax by drumming with others, or humming/chanting or both. Or go biking. Or swimming. Or slow jogging....Stay off artificial ingredients, meat, dairy, acid foods (most processed foods and animal products or wheat products) and increase green veggies and legumes/brown rice or barley...any whole grain other than wheat...most people are allergic to that. Throw out ALL junk foods and never buy them again. Get extra magnesium, zinc, b complex, c, and yes, lots of healthy oils like fish oil. ADD is just the body's way of telling you it's generally malnourished and hungry for rebalancing. And research..always with the word "natural" included!

Doreen Virtue has a book titled "Indigo Children" which contains dietary and supplement information for ADD/ADHD. I would recommend a visit to the library.

you are lucky that at least you know yourself that you are having ADD, and you want to do something about it. My son was diagnosis ADHD at age of three. He suffer alot cos not many teachers understand and can endure their so call nonsense. I have tried many food stuff but not much use. I heard Chinese herb can help, but he doesn't want it. Maybe you can try. I also remember reading something like coffee can help in ADD concentration.

ADD and ADHD aren't even real illnesses. Try some self-control and discipline.
