Is there a setting in Windows XP where I can ask it to "lock computer" automatically when I close the lid of the laptop ?
I have a Dell Latitude D610 which comes with 'Dell Quickset' software. This software gives option for 'standby', 'hibernate' or 'do nothing' when I close the lid. I cant find an option for locking the session anywhere.

Right click anywhere in the desktop there there isn't an icon. Select properties
Click the Screen Saver tab then click Power...
Click the Advances tab.
In the Options section there is a selection where you can require a password when coming out of standby.
By selecting this option, your computer will require a password when coming out of standby or hibernation. I suggest changing your password to something easy to remember but difficult to guess.
I strongly recommend this for a laptop. If your laptop is stolen, at least the thief will have a little bit of a challenge to attempt to make use of your laptop.
