The battery went dead and now the hood release will not work, thus I can't recharge the battery and restart the car. There is a technical bullentin out on this and says that if you hook up a car battery's positive terminal to fuse C3 and the negative to the door stop, then you will be able to operate the hood release. there are a lot of fuses at the firewall, I don't know which one is the correct fuse.

when i worked for porsche we would use a adapter that fit's in the lighter socket for some type of charge cord. for example a cell phone charger/cord and cut the wires and then apply to a 12v jump box and sometimes a 9v battery will be enough voltage to pop the hood. basically back feeding the car. does not hurt anything either.

The answer is inside the fuse box cover and is in the owners manual. The cover shows the fuse locations amperage and numbering, the manual shows the same.
