Ok 1 question...Are the percentages of who voted for and who voted against the bill accurate?

Contour you are sooo educated but you live in denial and don't have one lick of common sense.

Gee, an avowed conservative web site gives the GOP credit for the Civil Rights movement. WOW! I bet they also gave women the right to vote, pulled the nation out of the Depression, and ended sweatshop labor, too.

So, to anyone else who reads this, keep two things in mind. One, the person who posted it to the blog it's on is a conservative Republican, and all the people who posted in support of it are too. Two, you should always consider the source of any information you receive. Just because something is well-written and throws around a lot of big names does not make it true.

The article your link leads to is nothing more than Republican crap about how THEY passed the Civl Rights Act of 1964. The South, mentioned in the article as being Democratically-controlled, is not and has not been for many many many years. The South has been Republican controlled for some time. Do some due diligence and research this garbage before you pass it along as fact to any group of people. It's interesting that you want to impress African-Americans that Republicans are their pals and work hard for them, when it is the opposite.
