Do a full reset thus:
Turn your box off by the remote. Pull the mains plug out. Watch 60 seconds tick by on the nearest clock. Insert mains plug (switch it on if it's a switched socket of course!). Next, on the remote press the TV button and wait for one minute. Now (if nothing has happened so far) press the remote ON button. Your set should now come on showing you p998 or 999 (the demo page) and you're back in business.

I would lose some channels intermittenly on my DirecTV dish, and later when I switched to Dish Network. Go under your menu options and test the signal. If you call them, they will pretty much tell you to reset your receiver as well, so unplug that before you call them. I've had bad luck trying to get people to come and check out my receiver. Dish Network took over 2 weeks to finally come to my house!

Try switching your box off at the mains, remove card, replace card, switch back on.
