Take the job with the animal hospital. Sometimes you will have to do what appears as if you are going backwards in order to get into the direction that you want to go in.
Being that you really want to be a vet, you will have to take the pay hit now in order to do what you like.

Well, it depends upon what is more important to you right now - the money, or the experience.
If the money is more important, then keep the job you have.
If you're really serious about the vet tech major thing - then take the job at the animal hospital.
Just keep in mind that you're going to be missing out on between $50 and $75 a week while you're taking the job at the animal hospital.
A different possible option would be to see if there was some sort of job you could work part time in addition to your current job.
The 300 hours in 3 months works out to 25 hours a week. If you can work 8 hours on a Saturday, and 8 hours on a Sunday, that will leave you with 9 hours to cover Monday through Friday (maybe 3 shifts of 3 hours).
True, it would be a lot more difficult - and you'd be a lot more tired. But you wouldn't be loosing money - and you could probably make a good bit more.
Good luck to you!

Well it looks like it's plain and simple dear. You need the experience for your vet tech major....so take that job as the vet assistance just so you can get the experience. Because by time you graduate.... the fact you have a degree basically will mean NOTHING unless you have "Experience">.... that seems to be the norm for these times "experience experience experience" Heck you could have a Masters in Veterinary and they wouldn't give you the job simply because of lack of experience. Just try not to let it spread you too thin since you're still in school.
Good luck!

Look's like you'll be taking a pay cut of up to $76 a week. Can you get by on the lesser amount? If yes then it would be a good idea taking the new job to advance your career. If no then you cannot take it for obvious reasons.
