I don't mean to offend any 'Funnel-Cake' fans ... I'm very happy that they enjoy them. But the look, smell and taste of them all make me want to simply walk away.
If I had to eat at such an event, it would be a hot-dog ... but never before noon (those are left-overs from yesterday).
It's stupid, but I actually do this and it works out very well: Stop by the Hot Dog stand ... pick one out (of the package in the ice-chest) ... look them over for a minute ... then, "Yeppers, that one. Put that up on the top for me".
Pay for it and tell 'em you'll come back in an hour or so ... they're always happy to see you and you get the best Hot-Dog, with all the trimmings and smiles from the folks who work there ... treat them with respect, and they'll treat you with respect.
People are people ... we all want to do a good job. Take a minute to let them do it, tell them if they did it ... and that it matters.
Yeppers, I'm very good at picking out my Hot-Dogs. I've never been proven wrong.
P.S.
I guess the same goes for other things too ... I just can't see myself asking for a particular part of a gooey-bowl of pancake batter deep-fried in horribly unhealthy oil ... you are what you eat ... Hot-Dogs will preserve you for a 1,000 years !

I live in West Texas, and I would not dream of going to a fair here and not eating a smoked turkey leg. I also like cotton candy.

well I go to the Texas State Fair n Dallas and they have everything u can think of but I still resort back to the corny dogs.
