Did they all work, no, that's the problem with ideas when they are put in to practice problem will show up, and then congress has to fool around with them to and most times they screw it up.

After seeing other questions by this .... I have to agree with anthonyinkc, I suppect the questioner never looks at the answers and sure as h... never researches the subject. Both side of the political arena have their good and bad points, neither has the right answer on all subjects.

liberalism in the 1930s and 40s probably prevented the formation of a viable working class and socialist movement by preventing the economic and social alienation of the poor and unemployed during the depression. in the economic depression that Europe went through during the late 19th century working class and socialist movements grew and consolidated due to the action or inaction of conservative governments. and if you compare moderately liberal governments around the world with conservative or totalitarian ones, they seem to have better economic growth rates, mortality and literacy. the same is probably true for America. liberalism also made sure that the economic and industrial structure of America was up and running when America entered WWII. left in the hands of Hoover it would have been a desolate waste land of derelict factories and deserted farms.

Well you see.. first there were these guys...England called them liberals but we call them the founding fathers....who thought that people ought to be self governing...a very liberal idea at the time...

and then there was this liberal...his name was Abe...and he thought that all men created equal...actually meant that all men were created equal...

there was this guy named FDR...and after conservatives like WG Harding and Coolidge destroyed this country...lazy policies leading to the worst depression in American history....well FDR fixed all of that...he said let's have a New Deal...

And there was this guy...Kennedy...who stopped the world from destroying itself...and said lets put a guy on the moon....

There was this "pervert" in the 90's....who while messing around with an intern manged to get rid of the budget deficit...for the first time since there was a deficit...and led the country through one of the most economically prosperous times in history....

what have conservatives done...besides prohibition....???

first of all Abe was a Republican and slavery was not his main goal. he believed that the south was breaking the law. second the republicans were in control during the nineties remember them shutting down the government because bill wanted to spend more money. and social security a success? also labor laws were passed by republicans.

First list what conservatism has done.

No one will let liberalism do anything beneficial for the people. It would really be nice to have health care like Canada-- you would have to be foolish if you really think being robbed from insurance agencies is good for anyone except corporations and more money in politicians pockets to write laws against citizens. Hospital charges, what you pay for your prescriptions-- robbery. come on.
And when government is the only one who will protect you against credit card agencies, you must really feel like you've been stabbed in the back.
We need more laws protecting citizens from being robbed and taken advantage of by corporate america.-- YOu might call that "liberalism" , I call it loving and caring for the people of my country -- That is patriotism.
What's your definition?
If it's standing by your government right or wrong, that's not patriotism, that's just pride in ignorance..

To answer Jane. Conservatism brought the the end of slavery and the end of segregation. It was liberals that were against allowing the Black people of America to have equal rights in America. I guess Liberals do not have a dictionary at their disposal because their acts were not Liberal.

You mean not to mention the fact that our founding fathers were liberals? Oh I forgot, you have no concept of American history.
Anyone who reads your questions and answers can clearly see that you are solely on here for amusement purposes...why else would someone act so stupidly on purpose?

I agree wholeheartedly with the above posting. A liberal America allows you to continue to repetitively whine, complain to no ones benefit.
