I have two days to make some sort of dragon "dress up" items for the boys, ages 2 to6, who are attending my daughter's fairy themed party. Since boys would not want to dress up as fairies, but dragons also have wings, I'm trying to figure out a simple easy way to create a dragon-like costume for the boys. Thanks

Easier to make them Dragon slayers with a knightly sword.
Or the very naughty boy enchanted folk are brownies, no wings, great 'borrowers' and great for a scavenger hunt. Fairies tend the flowers and beauty and brownies tend the little critters and trees.
The boys might want to be fire faeries. Red wings, fire wands
Water faeries need water guns. For the boys, cut the wings in half, no butterfly shapes.

Can you make them dragon wings instead of fairy wings ... perhaps out of cardboard? If you went with that, you could also make some dragon tails for them. Maybe get those little blow things -- the party favors -- and buy them in red and orange, so they could blow "flames" out of their mouths like dragons.
How into dressing them up do you want to go? Because you could also paint their faces green.
As an alternate to the dragons, what about dressing the boys as trolls or gnomes? That would be super easy to make costumes for, and would still fit into a "fairyland" type theme.

Sounds like a cute party. I don't have much experience, but I'm imagining a thick & sturdy fabric for the dragon parts, like green felt maybe with red pipe cleaners for added structure.

hooded sweatshirts.. make a mouth on the hood, paint on eyes, attach a tail to the back bottom and the wings to the back, easy and can be multi colored
