I started dancing school at the same exact age....I loved it so much,,,i took tap jazz and ballet. Jazz was my favorite. Still thinking about it makes me smile. I went until i was almost 14 then quit because i didnt have the money like everyone else did once they mmoved me up in classes...i couldnt go on trips and things with the other girls. I wanted to be a dance teacher more than anything. But your daughter will have soooooooo much fun...and she will love the recital part on stage in front of everyone. Im so excited for her...lol Shes gonna make mommy so proud of her...u will be crying when you are watching her.

I loved dance class as a child. I took ballet for a couple years. It really depends on a class that is designed for fun though. Some schools are very serious about creating artists starting at a young age. If she doesn't seem to be having fun, try another school.
Also let her choose if she wants to do recitals or not. I loved to do the classes, and wear the tutus, but didn't want to dance on stage in front of a bunch of strangers. The teacher wanted my Mom to make me, because I was the "best" one in the class. But thankfully my Mom didn't make me. So it stayed fun, instead of stressful.
It was pretty much like dress up and playtime plus good exercise. great combination, and it helps less body aware children become more graceful.
I loved it. I think your child will too.

I took ballet tap & jazz as a child & loved it. I enrolled my daughter in the itty bitty class at 4 & she had a wonderful time!
They dance, work on moving as a class, rhythym, learning some of the basic poses. She should enjoy it quite a lot - it's really fun for them & they love seeing the other little girls, too. It can turn into a giggle fest really easily, but the teacher pulls them back into line! They learn how to listen to the teacher & pay attention, too. She should do just fine - relax & enjoy watching her learn!!!
The recitals are the best part - just wait!!!

if thats what she wants to do then take her...you have nothing to lose if she does not like it...it's a great way of having her meet new friends too..also a good time for you to meet other parents by getting to know them...try it

just make sure that you don't end up liking it more than her. people who live through their children (sports, beauty pagents, gymnastics, dance class, etc...) are just sad. if she ends up not liking it, make sure she understands that she always has the option to try something else. if she does like it, encourage her, but don't push her.
