I'd suggest speaking with your supervisor about immediate benefits of a bachelor's degree versus an associate's, if you're concerned about how the investment on your end now (time and money) will pay out when you're done.
However, if/when you move on from your current place of employment to another, having that degree can make a world of difference. We're beginning to move into a society where it doesn't matter how much practical experience you have, having that degree to back it up strengthens your resume tremendously. I'm in the communications field, and whereas I used to see job listings with "bachelor's degree or equivalent experience," I'm now seeing "bachelor's degree and 3 years experience," or similar.
I have a bachelor's degree and some grad school (I did all my classes but didn't get my master's degree because I didn't complete my thesis), and even having an uncompleted grad degree has let me slip into some jobs I was otherwise not a likely candidate.
Hope this helps, and good luck with your education!

You're very lucky that you already have a job, because in today's market it is nearly impossible to get a decent job, with decent wages and benefits, without a bachelor's degree. In fact, many employers won't even bother looking at a resume if the candidate doesn't have a degree. You will make more money with a degree, maybe not right this instance but definitely in the future. Without a degree, even though you are a valuable employee, I'm afraid that the opportunities to grow and advance in your field will just not be there. If you want to move ahead and get promotions, and rise in your company, you should get your bachelor's degree. After a while, when you're ready to take the next step, then go for your master's, and so on.

a bachelor's is very important... if you could top up the associates, then do it! right now it only means 1-2 extra yrs of hard work, but you'll be much happier later in life... and thankful
