I also quit smoking so I remember this. You have thousands of little hairs lining your throat . These have been pushed by the smoke every time you lit up. They're all starting to wake up now and that is causing the tickling. Also be prepared to hack up about 300 pounds of mucus as your body heals itself. Good luck quitting!

You have a dry mouth, it's probably due to the temp outside too, drink something cold and fizzy like coke (not diet) as the sugar could help sooth your throat.

Lozenges and cough syrup are also available from supermarkets, chemists and newsagents.

That's due to smoking but since you quit you have nothing to worry about cause it will clear up eventually. My friend has that all the time cause she smokes and she was told that she has asthma caused by smoking but she doesn't care. You have to be very careful and if you feel like you can't breathe, then you have to check yourself for asthma. If you are breathing ok, then don't fret and just wait for it to clear up on its own. Take care and congratulations on your wise decision to stop smoking.

Do you snore? Sometimes I do, and when this happens I wake up with a funny throat.

Nope if you just quit smoking that is normal and should resolve itself eventually.
