i have been on the birth control shot for about 5 years is it possible that i can get pregant still? i was doing some research and they said that i would at least take a year to get pregant but is it true?

it varies.....It all depends on how fast you body flushes itself...and it could take up to a year at the most is what it is meaning give or take a few months........

You always have a chance at getting pregnant even when they say their studies show that the birth control can stay in your system for up to a year. I have known a couple of friends that did not take any precautions after going off the pill and have gotten pregnant anywhere from 1 month to 6 months after. My best advise that I can give you is that when you do decide to go off the pill talk to your partner and if you aren't ready to take the risk of getting pregnant have him wear a condom! Nothing is foul proof but if you don't take precautions then you have no one to blame but yourself right? Also, Mustang if you think you are pregnant go to Walmart and buy a EPT Test just to be safe. Even though you are on birth control you still have a slight chance of getting pregnant. The only 100% way to stay safe is to not have sex or use extra protection.

of course u can get pregnant but it will take some. i will not actually say a year but at least 5-6 months until it clears out from ur system.

there is no 100 percent guarantee with birth control of any kind many people are here today even though their parent were using birth control to insure no pregnancy tie you tubes or he has to get a vasectomy

my doctor told me you are supposed to wait three months after you get off the pill to try. my friend got off the pill after 7 years and two weeks after she got off she was pregnant. everybody is different though but I was also told it shouldn't take long and if nothing happens in a year then you and your man need to get checked.

yes you can! Two of my friends got pregnant really quick after they stop taking ths shot (4-5 months), just be patient it will happen.
