I have a 1999 Dodge Stratus and after stop abruptly today, every time I push hard on the brakes now the car makes a "clunking" sound. Is it the brakes or something else?

You might be better off asking a Dodge Dealer about this problem?
Have you checked the tyres to make sure they are not flat?
It may be that the brakes need adjusting, or the brake fluid might be too low!
