The Honda DX is the cheapest, less equipped version.
The Honda LX is the next up from the DX, with more features.
The Honda EX is the most expensive and is usually fully loaded, i.e. spoiler, sunroof, etc.

Thumbs to Scott RASC, but add to support, EX and HX both have VTEC heads. The HX uses a version called VTEC-E, which is tuned for economy though and acheives better gas mileage than the Hybrid. It was introduced in 1996 as a replacement for the 1992-1995 Honda Civic VX; which used a D15 version of the HX engine. The EX has a VTEC head but doesn't say VTEC on it (probably due to it being a single overhead cam engine, as opposed to the mighty B16A that has dual overhead cam. You won't mistaken the two).

MOST ALL CAR AND TRUCK MAKERS HAVE VARIOUS LEVELS OF LUXURY BUILT INTO THE SAME BASIC CAR
LIKE POWER WINDOWS OVER CRANK WINDOWS
CRUISE CONTROL
NICER INTERIORS AND SUCH
THE USUALLY WILL DESIGNATE THESE BY
DX, LX EX ETC
SOME WERE LXI (FUEL INJECTED OVER CARBS)
LIKE A FORD PICK UP XLT PACKAGE....ALL THE GOODIES
OR AN EDDY BOWER EDITION
OR A HARLEY DAVIDSON EDITION
U STILL GET THE SAME BASIC VEHICLE BUT WITH A GOODIE PACKAGE OF VARYING DEGREES
