I've got a lovely white blouse which is made from a crinkly sort of fabric. I think the fabric is known as crepe.

The trouble is, the crinkles go vertically, and there are some fold lines going horizontally. Is there a way to eliminate the fold lines without ironing (as this would remove the crinkles)? Also, what will happen to the crinkles when I wash it?

To get rid of the wrinkles that don't belong there try using steam. If you have an iron with steam shot you can hang the blouse and hold the iron about two to three inches away and spray it. If you don't have this option, heat water on your stove and then move it away from the burner to prevent fire and hold the blouse above the hot pot to steam it. If this is crepe fabric the wrinkles that are made as part of the material will maintain their crinkle if washed according to the tag.

The crinkles will remain once you wash it - because of the type of fabric. However, it is likely, if you remove the blouse from the dryer immediately, that the unwanted lines will be gone.

Yes, yes, yes!!! Get you one of those mist bottles, and some vinegar, and pour the whole bottle of vinegar (white) vinegar, in this mist bottle, and the rest water... Put your blouse, on a hanger, and spray this mist water solvent on your blouse, where those wrinkles you dont like are, only, and pull on the blouse, from the bottom-up.. And wrinkles are gone!! Or take it straight out of the dryer, and do, this so you dont have to pull on the blouse... then spray your favorite perfume on it so it doesn't smell like vinegar.. the vinegar will dissipate, anyway, along with the smell......but, I read this in a "Home-Remedy" book and it definately "WORKS!!!" I use this so much I dont even iron, anymore!! Thats how effective, this is!!! Good-Luck, to you!! And no white vinegar, doesn't leave stains, of any sort, and its chemical-free!!! All 100%pure stuff !!! Its also great for household odors, and for cleaning your sponge, we all use for washing our dishes!! I use it for that funky smell, even a brand-new, sponge, tends to get!! I just put the sponge on a paper plate, and pour vinegar, on it, on both sides, and pop in the microwave for 1 minute, and take it out, and rinse it under cold water, and ring it out, and never fails, my hand doesn't get that odor, from the sponge, anymore, and the sponge, smells fresh & clean!! Vinegar, is so cheap too!!! What .50 cents, a bottle!! I stock up on it, thats how much I use it !!! Its a wonder water-solvent !!! I swear by it, as do other Home-remedy, users!!! Good-Luck, to you!!! Smile!!

When you wash it, just hang it out to dry on a hangar. If it is already dry, hang it from a hangar and leave it in the shower room with the door closed and leave the shower running with hot water so that the steam will dampen the material and allow the horizontal creases to fall out.

I have not seen crepe blouses for a while.. they are quite pretty. BUT for removing the creases.. I remember this one lady who had one and she had to take it always to the cleaners not only for cleaning but removing creases, etc.

Not diffcult at all. Soak it in cold water only and then let hang dry.
