What did you do? We tried to leave gum on her desk but she won't get the hint. Any suggestions??

I Am only in high school but there are plenty of people with bad breath. I try to offer them gum or a mint but usually they do not get the hint

No not bad breath, but body odour.
It's hard to bring up matters of hygiene, people are sensitive to that.
I was subtle in my approach, (talking about perfumes and then deodorants), so subtle that she didn't get the hint either.
A full on attack might be a better option.
She more than likely has a dental problem (bring up dentists - see too subtle).

Oh yes. It was awful. we did the same thing, offer up gum, mints. Finally at a Christmas gift exchange we made her a gift basket full of toothpaste, mouthwash, etc. I am not sure if it worked, as she got fired not long after. lol

I haven't had that displeasure yet. And I don't think there is any kosher way to deal with this problem- if her breath is horrendous and she won't take a hint, then you either have to confront her directly or learn to live with it.

yes i have. we made it a game that at lunch everyone would buy gum and when the bank closes we all would eat gum so they simply joined in thinking it was a new cool.

Well can I say classmate?..we would talk about our favourite types of tooth brush and tooth paste and which ad. related to them was our best and worst..it ended up being a huge convo..it ddnt exactely work so we ditched her..might work for you!..

yes, but the worst was when I worked with someone that had all over body odor!! We made the boss talk to her.

Yes I have. Well we didn't have to do anything because he was fired for looking at people's pay stubs...so thankfully we didn't have to do anything.
