Sting was advised to call himself `Sting` by his friends, he was actually called `Dull-Ache` before and it just wasn`t `rock`n roll` enough. (Too snooty being double-barrelled).Bono was actually christened Bono, he was left on a monastery doorstep in a bag of dog biscuits and one of the nuns brought him in with the milk and papers. They named him after the fantastic doggy treat that the nun enjoyed at the monastery most nights and the delicious, for dogs of course, biscuit brand whose bag he was hidden in.
As for bogtrotting, they invented that between them after an over indulgence of all kinds of doggy behaviour one sunday night after choir practise.
Strange, but oddly enough, quite true.

The fact that he got the name "Sting" as a nickname, cos of a black and yellow stripey jumper he used to wear, I guess it was his mates who originally started calling him that, and it just kinda stuck.
