Hi!
Colostrum powder is made from Bovine Colostrum. It's in no way like human colostrum.

Your 1 month old baby is still too young for cow milk, and since colostrum is made from cow's milk it can be too much for your baby to digest. His digestive system is not developped enough for anything but what he is taking right now, your own milk or a specially formulated one that closely ressembles human milk. Cow's milk is not recommended before six months of age.

You do not need to boost your baby's system in any way yet. If you're in doubt, ask your pediatrician or a pharmacist.

I was just wondering why would you want to give bovine colostrum to your baby?

Yes, it does. My toddler didn't really like the taste of it at first...he let it dribble out of his mouth. And the colostrum does benefit the older baby, too. This is my second time pregnant and breastfeeding. It is perfectly safe. It does cause alot of painful contractions in the third trimester, though, so if you are at a high risk for delivering early, it is recommended to stop. For every other mom experiencing a healthy, normal pregnancy, there is NO reason to wean a toddler.
