I heard about this in my spanish class and I can't remember the name of it. It's "[something] lines" I believe. These patterns were found on the earth from way way long ago before there was satellite technology. They are so large it can only be seen by space sattelite. It makes you wonder what they are and who put them there. If someone knows the exact name of this phenomena could you let me know?

Thanks Adops10. Yes it was the Nazca lines in Peru. I hate it when I can't remember the name of something and don't have enough information to type into google. So glad we have yahoo anwers. lol.

I think you're thinking of the Nazca lines in Peru. These can only be seen as images from the air and can be viewed by satellite. Here's a link to the designs:

The only man made feature that can be seen from outer space is The Great Wall of China.

And, for sure, the Chinese put it there.

The name is "fictitious". There are no such lines.
