You need to go to a Genito Urinary Clinic. They take a swab from your vagina and your cervix. It is no worse than a smear and is nothing to be scared of. They can normally tell you the results there and then and can also give you treatment. If you go to your GP you hve to wait for the results a few days/weeks,

A smear test is done and if if the test shows you have a STD they will give you the proper antibiotics or medicine, cream etc to clear the problem.

It depends on what you're getting tested for. But usually it's an internal examination and/or vaginal swab and/or a blood test.
And during the procedure think yourself lucky you're not a male. They have to have the swab put up their 'japs eye' (for want of a better word!

They will give you an exam. Most likey a Pap Smear like your yearly appointment. Than they will draw blood to check for other viruses it only takes a few minutes each for each procedure.

you lay on the table spread your legs in those comfy stirrups then the doc will take a cotton swab like for cleaning out your ears but bigger and he will gently rub it in your...area...and then your done. He will send it to the lab and they will either call and tell you your fine or tell you wich STD you have and have you come back for a treatment.

I think for some of them it is a swab of vaginal fluid. Others, like AIDS, are done by a blood test.

i recently went for one found out husband been cheating so wanted to make sure and i got given a swab thingy to do at home very bizzare and you thought put a tampon in was hard lol

A very large women with greasy hair and facial hair, puts on a rubber glove and inserts her arm up to around her elbow and has a good rummage around for a few minutes and then your all done!
