Phoenix is great in October! Warm, but not hot, during the days (t-shirt weather) and a little chilly at night (a light sweater would be good).

Don't pack any heavy sweaters or pants though, you won't need them. As long as you have one small sweater you should be fine. Have fun!

For both female and male, I would wear shorter sleeved shirts. Like everyone else said, the weather is pretty nice in October. I usually have a light jacket near me in the mornings and by afternoon I won't need it. Depending on what type of weather you are used to, I'd bring a bathing suit. At the resort I work at, people would be out by the pool layin in the sun during the middle of winter because it wasn't cold to them.

Anyway, good luck and have a safe trip!

October is tough. Can be hot days and cool nights.

Bring shorts but also bring a light coverup. Not necessarily a jacket but maybe a long sleeved shirt you can throw on top of a short sleeved one you wore during the day.

Still bring your bathing suit and sunscreen, 90 to 95 during the day and 65 -70 at night wouldn't be unusual.

It's gorgeous here in October - the temps will probably be in the 70s/80s during the day, and maybe the 60s/70s at night. It's still in the mid-high 90s right now during the day, but dropping down nicely at night. 90s isn't too bad here - it's not as hot as you think it is :)

Alot of business casual. Chinos, polo shirt, loafers. ALot of bright colors, too. Some of the kids are into the early 80's look, legwarmers, mohawk and all. sunblock, definitely. I would bring a jacket- not heavy because you won't need it during the day, but warm because the second the sun is gone the temp plummets.

If you work downtown, suits and more suits. Way conservative.

My favorite month here, warm by day, chilly at night, hood sweater weather... but not all nights get cool, bring jeans, Capri's, I never wear closed in shoes until at least December, so flip flops, and sandals. Tee shirts and a couple of tanks, even in October your car will be hot after sitting all day, Have Fun!!!

In October, you will need a light sweatshirt or a thick wind breaker.
