Disco, bellbottoms, hippies, flowers and peace chants

Disco ball, bell bottoms, platform shoes, lava lamps, polyester tops and afro wigs. As far as food goes, it's pretty much the same. To get more information on what was worn back then, go to www.afunkyshoeandboot.com. There you can find info on anything from bell bottoms to disco dresses to pimp hats to go go boots.

As for the music, you want Donna Summer, KC & The Sunshine Band, Rick Dees (Disco Duck), Wild Cherry, The Bee Gees and The Trammps. These are just a few artists during the days of disco. You can go to www.disco-disco.com for the history of disco music, and then there is www.discomuseum.com, this gives more information on disco music and Studio 54.

The peace signs, hippies and flowers were more during the 60s era, so that won't help you much. To help you more watch reruns of The Brady Bunch.

Don't forget that the 70's was full of color...., Jeans were not popular, what was popular was; wide leg pants, plat form shoes, large hair (not many braids)... and the music was big band, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Barry White, Whispers, Average White Band, the Jackson 5.... mostly music with a hard guitar and keyboards..... Look at the scene from Five Heartbeats were they are makin a come back to the disco set, the 70's is where that type of sound comes from....

If I've been a help holla back.... Rogee52000@Yahoo.com

Everything psychedelic goes, including the obligatory disco ball and some lava lamps! For flowers, think carnations in vases on macramé doyleys as centrepieces! Sprinkle multicolored confetti and glitter on the tables, and hang posters of 70's music and movie stars and plenty of balloons and streamers around the room. Try tie-dying cheesecloth for drapes or tablecloths. A Saturday Night Fever dance-off would be huge! The 70's allows so many cool ideas that it's a prom decoration bonanza.

David Cassidy and Donny Osmond posters, some posters with big colorful flowers on them, a lot of pastel colors, make the guys wear leisure suits (powder blue is good), long hair, sideburns, regular food (we ate the same thing as we do now), and I don't know anything about disco balls. sorry. Hope this helps.

Food pretty much what we have now.
Music-disco like the Bee Gees, KC and the Sunshine Band, ABBA, Chic, and Donna Summer.
Clothes - leisure suits, bell bottoms, short dresses

Watch reruns of The Brady Bunch and you will get ideas.

Call the rental companies in your area. They will probably have, or tell you where to get, a disco ball.

You can probably also rent lights that will create a psychedelic effect on the walls as a great, simple, easy decoration.

For a picture background, try to get a disco scene.

Bell bottoms, platform shoes, long hair (even if it's a wig).

Bob Seger, Bee Gees, Bread, etc.

Food? No ideas.

Disco balls can be found at places like Spencer's in your local mall. Might also want to give lava lamps a whirl!

Just have fun!

Hope this helps and gets those creative juices flowin!

for clothes i would suggest all of you to wear some 70s clothes. go retro since that is the theme.
for your disco ball, u might want to make it yourself. just blow a balloon, than u tape the whole thing and use PTA glue and tissue to paste over it. make sure its thick so that it will last long.when it drys, u might want to get some gittery stufff on it or mirror like plastic.

Play lots of Hendrix, Le Zep, KISS, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, etc
Disco was NOT the only music that was popular then, I personally would dress up as Radio personality Steve Dahl, If your from Chicago area you would know who I meen.
I better get some good points for this one!
