According to the American Battle Monuments Commission
There are 26,255 Yankee dead from World War I buried in 4 cemeteries in France.
There are 30,426 American dead from World War II buried in 6 cemeteries in France.
These 56,681 brave American heroes died in their youth to liberate a country
which is guilty of shameful unspeakable behavior in the 21st century.
May the people of the United States of America never forget their sacrifice.

Yes, the USA made significant sacrifices in WW1 and WW2. So did many other countries. Today, the shoe is on the other foot. Where the USA is taking the terrorist threat seriously, most of our WW2 allies are not. (UK,Australia,and a few others excepted)The USA got involved in WW2 late because we did not think the axis nations were a threat. We, the USA are hoping that these nations that are not taking terrorism very serious will wake up and support us, in all respects, to win the war.

You can find that information anywhere. Sure, France is a pain right now, but remember, without their assistance, we would not BE a nation today. How do you put a price tag on that? How do you pay that back? Let it go.

the shells coming off the beaches of France killed more men standing on boats on d day then have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. they did not give up they watched their comrades die without even hitting the beach, yet they pushed forward and prevailed. the news in America kept the moral of the people up and talked about kicking butt and winning. The left in this country is causing more deaths in this war then any suicide bomb ever could. they would rather cater to our enemy then defeat them. they would rather prosecute a marine then kill a terrorist.

Why can't you guys get over it and realize that you did not win WWII single-handedly.
28 million Russians died in that war and most of their major cities were destroyed.
The French lost a whole generation in WWI and withstood Nazi occupation for four years before you guys came along and did more damage with your reckless bombing than the Germans had.
One cannot help wondering it you are maybe a little jealous of their superior culture and history.
