been of work due to back problem. i also have a medical certifcate to prove my back problem. how can i write this all in the letter?
how can i explain the back problem?
i needed to have 2 weeks off?
i am on to to go back to work now?

YOU can't write your own sick letter. Your doctor needs to be the one to write the verification lettering stating your back problem and why you were out of work for that length of time. He'll probably add what the back problem was caused by. But only your doctor can do this that is IF your employer will actually take it. Some companies will not even take a doctor's letter but it's worth a try. You say you have a medical certificate to prove your back problem, that MIGHT be enough....but I'd still go by the office and have the doctor write a letter on your behalf just to be on the safe side.

I thought that if you have more than a week off work with a problem you need to take an official letter and Doctors note from you G.P. to prove that you have been to see them with the problem and that they advised you to take that much time off.

You have to self certify for 7 days of work. If a doctor gives you a medical certificate for time required off work,then your empoyer can't question this. Dr's will not give you a note for 1 day of work and you will be expected to pay.

You can get one from your doctor, will look more legitimate, or just use the certificate you have that is usually all that is needed. If you have a receipt for any medication that was prescribed for you throw that in too.

I believe you should have informed your boss about your illness. If not immediately inform him/her. You should not hesitate to got to office. You should go to office/works along with medical certificate clearly mentioning that you had back problem and 2 weeks rest was advised.

umm you dont need to write a sick letter, just show the doctors note will be good enough.

the medical cert should suffice, but if you are going to a Doctor- they will write a letter for you, usually for as long as you like (within reason).
