Your best bet is to call him, and very politely and professionally explain to him why it is you are dissatisfied. Remember lawyers are used to reading through things and picking them apart and reading into people. If you write an angry tirade, he will laugh at you for losing your cool. Just state factual reasons why you think you didn't recieve what you paid for, and he seems to shut you out nicely ask who the Partners at the law firm are and if he would mind if you engaged their wisdom and sought their opinion. Don't pull the "I wanna talk to your manager!!" BS it won't work in this situation. Remember, never get upset that shows signs of weakness to a lawyer... it's his job to pick up on that stuff on trial.

Write the letter, keep a copy for yourself. If the reasons for your dissatisfaction are because the lawyer hasn't returned calls, or disbursed funds or filed motions on time, then you would later have some documentation to use if you file a complaint with the professional responsibility board.

Just wondering the nature of your dissatisfaction since there are various outcomes. I would suggest telling him in person, written down he has proof of your dissatisfaction. By verbalizing it you leave room for compromise (like his fee, or tactics he is using) You can also say you will report him to the bar and complain to them. You may also as a last resort, sue him for his incompetence.
