I started out as a sales assoc. $6.50hr and within a year i had moved up to a management postion $30,000 yr. The problem is that i loved my job but did not feel my dist manager was supporting me. I know i was a good manager because of bonuses constant raises reveiws and when ever they would need assistance at other stores i would be the one to go. I was working 7 days a week 10 to 13 hr days and became extremely tired. I did this for 6mo, my asst. manager was always disrespectful behind my back and was constantly talking down to employee's when i wasnt around, they would end up quitting, when i confronted my dm he said he heard that too but wouldnt allow me to take proper action though i did confront her and we had a "discussion" I took a store that no one thought would ever see a mill$ and my first yr i made a mill+, one day my dm asked me could i handle it i said yes but it igged me so i quit no notice now im unsure of what to write for reason of leaving/why im not rehireable

i know it was irresponsible and i wouldnt do it again, even with a job lined up but now i am looking for employment and i know this has probally ruined my credibility as being dependable as well as the fact i am not rehireable so for a co to say they would not rehire me is a red flag on my career -

Just be honest. You can write on an application for the reason would be: conflict of interest on the job with my dm due to employees quitting due to asst. manager humiliating them.

GOOD LUCK!

Aim your self working at a lower position based on experiences of the past. You did it once you can do it again, move up the ladder. Your honesty, hard work and proven abilities will land you a hire position. Your reason for leaving this past job was most likely based on the fact that you moved up the ladder and proved yourself which caused personality conflicts. Your DM acting this way won't last long anyway acting that way. Also perhaps this company doesn't care about it's personel. I have my own business and if I had someone that could change a store to over a mil + I would want to know WHY you just quit. I'd be calling you.

Firstly,as a lady (as I presume from your avatar) to move up within a yr from an hourly-paid salary to a whopping $30,000 a yr pay, you're either:
1) extremely hardworking fella who's being very appreciated by the company.
2) a bootlicking expert.
3) a liar who just wanna look good to your online peers.

But by looking at the way you discribe your problem at work,I won't doubt that you're the latter 2. I'd rather believe that you are a hardworking gal with very terrible social skills among your colleagues.

I'm not saying you are not sociable at all. But there are people who just find it real hard to communicate with their colleagues and make them love you. It is easier to talk to the suppliers and clients. There are people who succeed in that rather easily cos they have likeable features. If you don't,you will just gotta work extra hard.

It is not entirely essential to hold a job, but it is a vital part of the survival package in this modern world. In fact,it's even recorded in the history book. How many good guys got executed by the emperors just because their fellow colleagues don't like him and got him killed? Countless.

You made a rash move by quiting. But what's done can't be undone. You'll just gotta learn from your lesson.

The next time you encounter this, you should weigh the pros and cons. In this case,I'd think which is more vital and which would cost me more -
a) lose a job and carry on search for the next one without income, or to bear with the "abuse" with a salary and move on when I find a way out.
b) $30,000 cold hard cash a year, or a gossiping subordinate and unsupportive superior.

Have you ever talk to the higher management? You did a right thing to go through the hierachy. But when the one right ontop of you is not doing anything, it is inevitable for you to go beyond.

All the best!

I went through the same thing except that I was a manager and after working so many hours and 7 days a week, I decided to take three days off instead of two. ever since my DM was always on my back coming to my store unanounced hoping to find something wrong with the store just so that she can write me up. Of course it never happened, but my assitant did turn her back on me and I ended up getting fired. Some other company will hire you cause you have the experience, don't worry....
