its a face stretch. WHO KNOWS really. its weird and we all do it. and it doenst feel the same if we keep our mouths closed. it's like a rule to have your mouth open.

There is a very simple answer. It is much easier to hold your eyes open if you hold your mouth open,also.
Whenever I have to give eye medications to a patient, I always tell them to open their mouths as wide as they can. It always works, but I am very frequently asked, "Are you going to put the medicine in my eyes or in my mouth?".
BTW-I am male and do not use mascara. (Just in case you were wondering)

Try keeping it closed next time... I think it is because your brain tells you that you might block your nose with your arm while applying it so you open your mouth in order to breathe better.... I really don't know...

Why do you open your mouth when you look above such as to the sky or a ceiling? It just happens.

You wont believe it but, we open our mouths by habit but thanks to that we don't blink while we put the mascara on.
Is a secret every women must know.

It keeps you from blinking!! Open your eyes wide and your mouth wide as well, and you don't blink as often!
