Can you get vitamin D from a tanning bed?

I know this sounds retarded, but do the bulbs give off the same vitamins as the sun?

yes but if you wear sunblock you will not absorb the UV rays. Your skin absorbs the UV rays and then it turns into vitamin D inside your intestines.
