How do boys get erections.
Okay I will try and explain how erections happen but you will be most amazed by the fact that most of the time (at least in young men ) we don't do anything. Also, you will have to put up with a long explanation. In order to have sex a male penis must be erect. That erection is related to physical health, mental health, and emotional health (ego) If a male is threatened or scared or has anxiety about sex he may not be able to get erect. Erections occur when more blood is pumped into the special tissue in the penis than can leave. The arteries carry blood to the penis and the veins carry blood away from the penis. When the brain gives the command the arteries dilate (become very large) and more blood is pumped into the penis than can be carried away by the smaller veins. The result is the penis becomes engourged with blood and becomes erect. When erect it becomes more sensitive and sexual arousal is easier. The following things will trigger the command in the brain so that an erection occurs. Physical stimulation (the boy or other person touch and rubs the penis), visual stimulation (the boy sees a girl, a picture, or woman in a form of undress that triggers an erection) Males are genetically engineered to be set off by visual stimulations. This is one reason why most users of pornography are males. In childhood and early puberty (5 to 13) boys can get spontaneous erections. The brain just decides to trigger an erection. This is very embarrassing to boys because it happens at school, while at play, in front their girl friends, in the shower during PE. The boy does nothing to cause this it just happens really! Girls think boys are always horny and that is true for teen agers but boys don't do it the hormones do it to them. Mental stimulation, sometimes just thinking about a special girl or having masturbated last night etc. will stimulate an erection. Boys get no rest while they sleep either. While a boy sleeps at night he usually has up to 7 erections in his sleep. And if he has not masturbated for several days and is of the age to produce semen he may have an orgasm in his sleep ( a wet dream ) in which he shoots semen all over his PJ's or briefs and the bed sheets. It is usually a rather large amount. Then in the morning he wakes up with a very hard erection that is the result of pressure from a full urinary bladder on the veins in his penis. That has to be dealt with in some way so he can urinate. Erections are very much a part of a man's life. In our youth we do not do a lot to cause them they just happen. As we mature and enter puberty we learn to take charge of our sexuality and to control them to some degree but not totally. A man can cause an erection by physical stimulation, visual stimulation, sex play with a partner, or mental stimulation or fantasy. And most men use those things to get erections at private moments in order to masturbate in private and release all that sexual tension. When a man gets a partner then she helps release all the sexual tension and love making or having sex envolves physical, visual, and emotional stimulus.
I hope this helps you understand your boy friend a little more. And realize that sometimes you may trigger an erection when you don't really mean too. When that happens do not think to ill of your boy friend.

It has nothing to do with the need to pee. It does have to do with dreams though but not just sexy dreams but all dreams. When we (everyone) dream we enter a sleep called REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. In this sleep our bodies become very relaxed, almost to the point of paralization, so that we don't physically act out our dreams. In all men who do not have a physical cause of erectile dysfunction this relaxation allows our penis to fill with blood and become erect. Seeing as most people usually wake up during ir just after a dream we still have an erection when we wake up. This happens about 5-7 times a night for most of us.

Good question. If I am making love with my girlfriend, sometimes, if I am erect for a while without having an orgasm, I feel the need to pee. So, I have to pause, go to the toilet, pee, and then I can resume lovemaking. If I do not go for a pee, I find it more difficult to achieve orgasm. Now, when I am asleep for a long time, my body needs to pee, so I erect unconsciously. It's nothing to do with having a sexy dream. When I wake in the morning, with a hard-on, I need to pee. This is a very difficult task, because my hard-on refuses to go down until I have had a pee. So I usually cover the bathroom in a golden fountain! Basically, it's a design fault in the penis. Proof, in my opinion, that if God does exist, he is a she and She has a semse of humour.

Did you find out this is not the place to ask serious questions? A mother answered who is too stupid to know why something happens in her sons. Others answer to be smart a$$. Others just spout off, like me.

By the way. The penis is erectile tissue just like nipples. When blood is trapped in there, because of swelling of the bladder, it will cause an erection. Erections sounds better then hard on.
Unless you like talking like that and don't know anybetter. What would you say if someone asked you when you had your last doughnut?

It's a hormonal thing.... It gets more in the morning causing the morning hard-on...

Another reason is that after waking up, the bladder is somehow full of urine and it presses on the prostate causing this erection... That's why most men softens after they urinate in the morning...

Urinating with a hardy is my every morning trouble (difficult to aim downwards :)

Part of the normal REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep pattern is the shut down of portions of the brain that control voluntary motion (which works inconsistently in some people) and the cycling of the endocrine system. Part of the latter involves nocturnal erections in men, which can occur several times in a night and frequently coincide with waking in the morning. It is perfectly natural, and, in the spirit of "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade", you should view it as an opportunity. :)

Well, you know by now that it's all scientific and completely normal. But, if you have a bf or when you do, or get married, don't let them use this as an excuse for you to solve that "problem" EVERYTIME mr.winky is "awake". Aint happening!

One possible reason is blood is least used by brain ,heart and digestive system at this hour so it finds it way to genitals. This also explains why some men simply love morning sex

I don't know, but it's funny and it's just wired into their system. Both my sons have had them since they were babies, so it has nothing to do with sex. It's hilarious when your two year old looks down at his thingy and says, "Mom! My penis is BIG!"
