I went to the Rascal Flatts concert. They had a huge screen that showed videos/scenery on it and had square lights that showed fire, waterfalls, etc. all around the stage. I was just wondering how someone would get the job of creating things like this for a concert.

No qualification required

Entry to this trade is by chance and word of mouth. You start at the bottom and drink your way up.
The 3 way in are:
A venue that has a house lighting system, go there during the afternoon before a gig and talk to the house lampy.
A lighting company that is close to you, go knock on thier door, if you can drive youre as good as hired.
A band that you know that is about to "make it", go help them, do some lights for them.
