As a Christian, I try to live my life by setting an example, yes... but it doesn't always follow the example, will be copied by the ones you set it for.

We each have freedom of choice and our values aren't the same.

We all go our own way in the end. But as a mother I would be very aware of the example around my kids. Because THEY do go very much by example. We have to set the example of what we think is going to benefit them in the best way and it's what we think is right to the best of our knowledge. That's all you can do really! I don't know if that is sticking with the point, but anyway!

Yes sure this is an example life. If not there won't be enough chance to do the same mistakes again and again. Remember Adam ate the forbidden just for once and he had gone from the heaven till the dooms day. In this world we have many chances to do the right but pople like me allways does the same mistakes again and again and makes his mum crazy. I think if a person makes his mum crazy he would make god angry too.

Do you mean we try to imitate the examples of others? Or that we try to set an example for others?

We are social beings. To a large extent, our behaviour is reflective of the values/normative behaviour of others around us, perhaps more so than we would like to admit.

As individuals, we perhaps look at other people and find qualities we admire in them and try to emulate them.

As for myself, I don't try to set an example for others. I act as I think I should according to my own principles. (These principles were not developed in a cultural vacuum either, they were derived to a large extent to what I have been exposed.)

As for being right or wrong, that is relative. So, no, I don't see it "necessarily" right--nor wrong.

i think everyone should live by example! A person that goes through their life ashamed of their actions and ethical choices would have a very sad exhistence indeed. I think far too little attention is paid to the minor indescrepencies that we occur on a day to day basis and ignore and you dont have to be religious to notice that!

Other people are either an example of how NOT to behave or in more rare instances, an example of how TO behave. However, I am mostly inner directed and motivated personally.
