That is 8% of US citizens are estimated to be living behind walls in a community which has it's own security patrols, secured entry points and CCTV surveilance.

If you've ever seen some of the gates it is a joke. There is a gated community in PA where I go sometimes and on one day the flimsy wooden gate arm had been snapped off twice. This security stuff is not really for security. It is more for use as a sales pitch to attract buyers to their "secure" community.

Why would I be concerned? I live on 5 acres with an 8.5' fence topped with barbed wire, I have a gate and CCTV, and a wolf that roams for security. Most of the people that live this far out have similar setups. I guess I don't get your question. It is nice to feel safe.

The whole of America is a gated community with armed guards on the gates, so why should its citizens be any different.

I wished I lived in such a community, free from the hordes of Moslims and East Europeans swarming to my city (Glasgow, hightest UK population of "asylum seekers" - source - ITV Scottish news).

Nothing would give me greater pleasure to live in one - it doesn't concern me at all. At last I could live in peace without having to worry about the proverbial silly cow over the road screaming her jugs off just for fun or the drunks ambling along throwing stones at cars. I might even get to know one or two of my neighbours without fear of one them knifing me for fun when they're under the 'fluence of the drugs they just bought off that dodgy looking bloke on the corner. And to think, somebody thinks it's a bad idea.................????????????

How is that a bad thing? I'd love to live in one.

No, it's the other 92% that worry me.
