I'd be sad but relieved that it was over and our troops could come home. Iraq is a no-win situation.

It is a very complex subject. Nonetheless, The United States has been playing the fool with a lame international policy for the last 20 years or so in terms of diplomacy, global intelligence and strategic allies (political, economical and religious allies). America seems to adore and enjoy being the self centered, uneducated and dillusional country everybody like to hate.
Get smart America, choose your presidents right, fight for the right cause and understand foreign cultures. You are a diverse and powerful country, take advantage of this advantage. You are like the young men that get money fast; you are arrogant, you are haughty, you are socially dumb. But you still have time to react and be the best you can be. So far you have been acting like the Hugo Chavez of the capitalist world. Change.
Become what you were meant to be America; respect other cultures and shear the world with the world. Make friends. Act smart.
You will lose the war in Iraq; As you will lose the war in Iran, North Korea and Pakistan. Ask Libanon, ask China. Heck, you may lose the war on terrorism. Why? Because you haven't find a way to build honest and sincere bridges. You are still an oil economy-based country and your leaders have a big chunk of the industry so they can sell your future to your enemies. Get it America: you live on war because your economy is a milicious-based one. You have turned yourself that way and you have been clumsy evolving into a peaceful country so far.
Wear sunscreen. Smile.

assuming the U.S. isn't trashing the country on purpose. if it is then it is winning. they sold Iraqs major assets to foriegn investors, they'll have the really big embassy/military base.... instigating a civil war/trashing the country would be a really good way to ensure this goes uncontested. the real 'enemy' to the U.S. planners is the Shia majority... it always has been. the sanctions kept Hussein in power by starving the population. just ask yourself whether or not the sanctions were working. if they were working why the invasion? Hussein was becoming too weak? or they were not working... thousands of iraqi civilians mostly childern starved to death. this went on for ten years. they were sort of working? ... keeping hussein in power and starving the population... after 10 years hussein was growing too weak. something had to be done. this is not taking into account that during the first gulf war the U.S. allowed Hussein to put down a shia uprising that would have overthrown him. this also doesn't take into account most iraqi's still don't have electricity and U.S. contractors are taking the money and simply not doing any of the reconstruction work.

may be the right question is " Will you be sad or ashamed if the Future USA President orders to keep our troops in Iraq??''
The USA will certainly loose the war in Iraq. Iraq is completely destroyed so Iraqis have no thing to loose in continuing to attack American soldiers.
Bush will never, for the remaining Little time, order his troops to leave Iraq, it will be understood as a defeat for his party. Iraqis are daily killed by hundreds, and American public opinion doesn't care. It's really strange. That's would make Americans ashamed.
In the other side, American soldiers are daily attacked and killed freely, because the war is lost in advance. That's would make Americans Sad.

I'm already ashamed we're losing this illegal war in Iraq! Can't you see this is now a Vietnamesque mess! Bush has lost his freaking mind doing something like that! Take a look at the death of almost 3,000 soldiers, thousands of Iraqi civilians killed in this mess, and not to mention the war-trashed bodies of our wounded soldiers! All I have to say is get our troops out of Iraq now before things go further downhill! Can't the President see the American presence in Iraq has further increased the risk of terrorist attacks and fueled the rise of the insurgency? I don't think he can because of his incompetent mind! He's just too dumb and stupid!!!!!!!!!

Sad, no. Anyone with a minimal amount of intelligence would know we should have never been at war with Iraq, so if we pull out (correcting the mistake) and we are declared losers I'm fine with that.
I agree we wont and can't win this conflict so lets get the hell out now saving the lives of hundreds of Americans.

this will not make any difference to people like you who gloat whenever America is harmed(did you dance in the street on 9/11?) you will be able to take partial credit for the demise of the US by not standing 1st for your country and 2nd for yourself or whatever agenda you have.
don't give me that line about "freedom of speech".
you can speak freely but all of our freedoms come with responsibility.
when you act irresponsibly then you are as much at fault as anyone if any of the freedoms are lost.
please don't vote i doubt you do any way)i would rather any election be determined by drawing a name out of a hat than by nincompoops like you.

We lost that war as soon as we started it. It was a fraudulent war, it shamed America and destablized the mideast and coalesced global terrorism.
Where this travesty war is concerned, what I care about is getting Americans home.

as if it isn't already apparent
we lost before we got there
we the people are the casualties here
with no "end state" there can be no "win"
and the refusal of the leaders of US to declare what a "win" will be means more losses stateside of our freedoms and security
