william sidis..... off the charts, estimated to be above 250
He died from ceberal bleeding in his forties and was the youngest person to be accepted into Harvard University
Lots of myths surrounding his abilities, and it has consequently become very difficult to sort fact from fiction, but his talents became the inspiration for films like Good Willing Hunting and Little Man Tate with Jodie Foster
His father and mother were well known academics; genuises themselves, but William was beyond even them, so much so that he was banned from entering discussions with their academic friends because he showed them up everytime during their routine dinner parties. It was also said that he completed the theoritical part of the medical degree exam when he was just 8 years old and wrote his first book on astronomy around that time as well
His intelligence made him famous for a while, during his youthful years at Harvard but as he got older he shunned the limelight and worked as meagre accounts clerk, occassionally corresponding with einstein, for the inspiration or stimulation that a brain of his calibre needs, and then eventually dropping below the range of the celebrity radar
I doubt Einstein was just 135; I heard differently and IQ scores are measured differently according to the country you are in:

40 years ago, a friend of mine took an official IQ test in a Chicago high school. He got the best score that had ever been recorded on that test.
It made the newspapers. The reporter asked the tester what his IQ was. "The test doesn't go that high." "Give me a number." "250."
For the top 100 people or so in the world, the test just isn't very useful. The most meaningful answer to your question is "over 200" and "several people, including....[insert every name that has been given]". The people who cite one specific number and person are going where the test wasn't designed to go.

Marilyn Vos Savant doesn't have the highest IQ in the world. At 228, there are plenty of people with higher IQ's even on that scale.
William Sidis was 'estimated' at IQ of 250, on the Catell scale (SD 24)
However, estimates can be off by quite a bit, but there is no doubt Sidis had a very high IQ.
People alive today that have been tested higher than Marilyn Vos Savant:
(SD 24)
Chris Langan, USA 243
Paul Johns, UK 240
Andreas Gunnarsson, Sweden 235
Thomas R. A. Wolf, Germany 235
Evangelos G. Katsioulis, Greece 235
Rolf Mifflin, USA 238
Scott Durgin, USA 235
