It's a very good phone with a larger screen than the sony-ericssons and an excellent camera. The pictures and video are very clear and bright. I haven't seen pics from the equivalent sony-ericssons but how much better than very very good can you get??! Imho a lot of rot is talked about quality of camera phone lenses - it doesn't matter whether zeiss, leica, hasselblad or anyone else make them or not, the lenses are almost universally not very good because they're just so small. If you want a phone that works well, has good imaging functions, and has an almost unbeatable display, look no further. However if you want full internet (not that wap crap) look at the N80 (which has wifi, a proper browser, but a short battery life). Only other thing is that they're slide phones which makes them a little more compact but may not be to your liking.

LISTEN CAREFULLY

Lets suppose that i work for a big network company
lets suppose that i work specifically with those handsets
lets suppose i m at the receveing end of customer/user feedback
lets suppose also that i ve some stats in terms of reliability for the above mentioned handsets

you are talking about 3rd generation handsets right? well then DONT go near any NOKIA, especially the 6280

1 in every 6 will develop a fault within 3 months either the camera, the settings, phone freezes, crashes, no ringtune, no viibration, not reading the memory card, software issue.
1 in every 3 will develop a fault within 6 month,
1 in 2 in a years time.

And of course i know what you will say, in fact i hear it every day!!!:

"but i like Nokia, i always/olny buy Nokia!"

well then...you ve been warned!!!

Nokia have recently revealed there are 'software issues' in a lot of the 6280's. They are currently re-flashing all handsets with the updates. Depending on what you want it for I'd personally choose a different h/set such as either SE K800i or Samsung D900 for camera, or SE w850i / W950i for music.

I've been using it for half a year and i find it pretty good. It serves its purpose really well, no problem whatsoever.

The screen is excellent, one of the best i've seen from Nokia, its features are robust and top-notch among the current mobile line-up, 2mp camera, FM radio, hot-swap mini-SD card etc. and pictures taken are pretty good, along with all other functions working well, among them the standard organiser, messages, contacts etc.

Overall a great standard normal phone for people who don't seek for high-end functionalities in smartphones or pdas.

It gets a lot of bad reviews for plenty of reasons. I would steer clear.

Here is a website with reviews from actual owners:

tiny internal memory but a good design, lovely screen but i've seen better 2megapixel cameras (S/E K750i and it's buddies w800i, w810i and w700i). on a general level, it's a good phone blah blah blah, but there r much much better phones out there in d same category.
so honestly, i'd rather u get one of dem S/Es aight.
