The beaches on the WEST coast are MUCH nicer than that of the EAST coast. The sand is like sugar but even finer. The East coast has a sort beige, brown, black and white mix.Sanabel Island is supposed to be the supreme beach.Be prepared to pay a $6 toll to go over there.Sanabel Island is located @ Ft Meyers (south-west Florida).

I have lived by several beaches in Florida - Atlantic, Jacksonville, Daytona, Key West, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale. By far, for what you are looking for, you should try Daytona Beach. But, be forewarned none of the beaches are too active in November. At least Daytona actually has bars on the beach which is cool. Here are some great places to try:

Ocean Deck Restaurant & Club - They have the bar so you can walk straight out on the beach and carry your drink with you within the vicinity in a plastic cup. Karoke on some nights. Even the locals keep it going if tourist aren't in town.
Razzle's Night Club - Some nights have free drinks for ladies until 11:00.
Ocean Walk - If you get bored, there are a few shops here and a movie theatre. All of these off A1A in Daytona.

It is slow in Florida in November but I'd go any time.Panama City Beach is pretty good. The the East coast beaches,Daytona down to Fort Lauderdale are also good at this time.

Tampa has lots of young people and some of the nicest beaches in the USA, but it's on the Gulf of Mexico so not much surf. If you want waves go someplace on the East Coast like Datona Beach.

You better face it that Fla. is the old people's playground. They will be everywhere.
It's the general attitude you may want. The Atlantic side has a lot of East Coast transplants, the Gulf has a more Midwestern feel.
Ft. Myers & Tampa are great.
So is Daytona Beach.

Well it all depends how nice u want the beach to be. If u want something so-so go to Miami beach or Daytona or whatever! But if want Cancun Style beach, try Destin!!!! Its near Panama City, but the water is VERY different. Nice, blue, clean, white sand!!! AWESOME!!!!!
