A lot of people think John Bonham died from a drinking binge. My understanding of his death was that he had in fact been drinking while taking medication to help him withdraw from heroin. He choked on his vomit and was pronounced dead on the 24th of September, 1980. He died at Page's house. Hopefully he climbed up the Stairway to Heaven towards his own Misty Mountain Top while Rambling on about Rock-n-Roll like a Fool In the Rain wishing he had a Hot Dog. May he rest in peace.
