You don't need LSD to get someone to talk when you can:
pull their fingernails
hang them by their thumbs
dislocate their shoulders
subject them to extreme temperatures while naked for long periods of time
deprive them of sleep for days at a time
beat them
hold them under water to the point of drowning
use compressed air to blow out their eardrums
subject them to electrical shocks
put them in uncomfortable positions and leave them for hours or days (think "Tiger Cages" used in Vietnam)
So, no, the CIA doesn't need to give them LSD to make them talk, they can just torture them instead and the President and Attorney General will back them up!

No. The last thing we need are religious fanatics having hallucinations. Very, very bad idea. The chance of having a "bad trip" is too great, and the consequences would be very bad.
