Jesus should die to become immortal. Without a martyr, things would not spread like fire in dry field.

If people were able to thing and use good sense, he would not need die for us, instead, due our sins (lazy, envy, egoism,...) it was necessary a bigger act, a bigger end to bring attention. To shake people from their comatose - common until our actual days.

Die for a miserable people who do not care about its "brother" and fight for foolish things or utopic things. Instead to change its world, just feel more comfortable thinking about far regions and cultures.

People who are already dead despite the fact that still walking, reproducing and believing that they think.

Christians believe that every sin carries a consequence. (Same for every good work - it carries a reward). Christians believe in a sin called "orginial sin". They teach that when Adam committed the very first sin (eating the fruit in the garden), it placed a blemish on the spirit of every person born from him (which is everyone). The consequence of the original sin is death.

Because Jesus was born of a virgin, He did not carry the stain of the original sin within His spirit. So He was able to live a life that was completely free of sin. But he made a choose to accept into His spirit the stain of the original sin and to die as sacrifical death on the cross so that His death would pay the "death penalty" for all the rest of mankind. He then rose from the dead with His spirit once again free of the stain of sin, and the ability to impart that "clean" or holy spirit into others. The Bible refers to this experince as being "born again". It is a literaly rebirth of the that human's spirit.

Because of that, anyone who believes that Jesus has risen from the dead, and acknowledges his Lordship (or Leadership) over their life is "saved". That word means to be "delivered, made whole, healed, cured, saved" and more. For that individual, their sin as been taken away and they are able to live in a new life where sin no longer has the same hold over their heart.

Does sin still exist in the world? Yes.
Can a Christian decide to go ahead and sin? Yes.
Are there still consequences for sin? Yes.
Are their still people who have not allowed the sin in their hearts to be cleansed? Yes.
Have Christians and even church leaders continued to live in sin? Yes.
So did the death of Jesus really do anything about sin? Yes
It gives you as an individual a spirit that wants to be free of sin, and has not only the will but the stength to do it, if you choose to.

This is a core Christian belief based on Jesus' teachings and reported in the Bible.

I think the idea is that people before Jesus could not benefit from his message and could not therefore be expected to obey it. By taking away the sins of the world Christians believed that people could make a fresh start and live the good life by following Jesus' teachings. But conversely, they will answer at the last judgment if they fail to follow Jesus. As few of us manage to avoid doing evil, this message is a difficult challenge.

His death did not take away the sins of the world but rather it covered for our sins in the sight of god. Because irreguardless of how many "unblemished saviours" that could come into this world man will continue to sin and this is a real and logical fact, now knowing this to be true that it is in man's nature to sin it would have almost been impossible for anyone to be seen as righteous in the sight of god and as such Jesus has beared that burden for us by granting us forgiveness by god through him and making us to clean through him by his self sacrificing act on the cross. There are a lot of scriptual references to validate the truth in what I have just written but the best evedence would be that of a personal experience with Jesus Christ then you can doubt no more and no one will be able to doubt you.

His death didn't take away the sins "from" the world, but it has broken sins' power over us.
Adam sinned freely, and we have inherited this brokeness and must live with this consequence.
Jesus came and freely submitted to Gods' request, even though it meant suffering and death and by this obedience; he has restored to mankind (if they want it) the friendship/relationship with their creator.

You must excuse my poor attempt to explain your question.

Because it was the gratest sacrifice a god could have made for the human kind - so say the christians.

In my opinion christians just had to think out a way to "open" the haeven's gates to people - they needed something strong to attract new worshippers.

because they have been brain washed into thinking that 1 book is the only one they need to live their lives by?and believing that means they can sin and ask for forgiveness and get it thus giving them eternal life as there perceive it.
