There should definatley be a Mowo awards.
Screw this political correctness,if they can have one,why cant we?
Another thing as well.(not going off the point but it all ties in)
I was riding on a bus and what did i see on the back of the bus in front of me?
It was an advert for Black Britain, with a Black Union Jack splattered all over the back of it??????
But what would the uproar be if there was an advert on the back of a bus for a White Britain?
Racially equality means if you are white you dont have any.
They should get over themselves playing the race card, people are getting fed up with it.
Get on with your lives and stop seeing yourselves as different.
We are all humans.

There would be uproar. I'd love it.

People think that positive discrimination (e.g. employing a black person over a white person because the black person is from a minority) is a good thing, but it blatantly isn't. If someone created MOWO, people would try to shut it down, and the comeback would be 'Only if you shut down MOBO'.

Dave: Yes a white artist can win a MOBO. We're not denying that. A black artist will be able to win a MOWO. The whole point is that singling out Black music for an award show is very selective. We want an award show which celebrates white style music only, what's wrong with that?

I've been been trying to make this point at work. It would be considered horribly racist to have a MOWO award (although the Brit's isn't far off truth be told). Also the BBC radio station One Extra - for "New Black Music". You wouldn't get a station for only "New White Music" would you? I mean Radio 1 plays a mix of black & white artists, so why the need for 1 extra? I consider the MOBO's and 1 Extra to be racist. And before anyone jumps to conclusions NO I am not a racist, BNP type, I just don't understand why there should be exclusivley black institutions like the MOBO's in this age where we are supposed to all be equals.

I could say I completely believe you and think of it is ridiculous. there is an extremely tenuous argument (which frankly has no longer something to do with the MOBO's as they stand) which says that all of us present day music originates from black music (slave songs and chants, gospel and so on and so on). it is real to an quantity and subsequently it is greater durable to locate music of absolute white commencing place different than stuff like Mozart!! That mentioned, the MOBOs are no longer approximately all that stuff. they are basically approximately performers who're no longer white. some years in the past whilst i replaced into conscious of present day regulations, there replaced into no regulation to permit for racism against a white individual till they have been, case in point, Jewish. I dont know if the regulation has replaced immediately. If it has, then somebody could make case regulation by using taking a case asserting they have been excluded from the form using their colour. that could stop it. different than that, there is not any longer something to stop this experience persevering with in an extremely segregated way.

There is no music now days with White Origins, just about every genre of music has black roots. So that would be a stupid awards cermony.

It would be classified as racist, and those groups that weren't represented would plan demonstrations.

The same sort of negative resaction would come if someone set up a taxi company just to take male customers, yet it is seen as acceptable for one to be set up just for females.

Or for a trade union to set up a working group for straight people, yet a lot of unions have groups set up for gays.

And in answer to martin_jo ... YES THEY DO .... MOBO ... Music Of Black Origin.

What type of music would that be anyway?

There are radio stations for white people which is nearly almost every one including radio 2 3 4 another one which is pure opera music now tell me how they are not radio stations dedicated for white people if 1xtra is dedicated for black people.

There would not have been a need to create any of those black oriented shows or channels had we been included or acknowledged in your white shows and programs in the first place

It would be classed as racist.
I'd love it to be done though just to see some of the reactions!
