neo nates are definitely counted as persons. even the unborn foetus needs to be respected as an individual.

the ethics once again is a subjective matter. what is ethical to one may be unethical to another.

in cases of neonates, it is best left to the parents to decide the life sustaining decision. ofcourse, the doctors need to clearly explain to them the benefits and liabilities and the family should be supported by other significant people to make an informed decision.

the best interest once again depends on your value system. what values the parents have in life, let them be directed by that. in such a crisis situation, pray god fervently and He will show the way.
