Ive always been a Mariah fan. Even through those times when everyone was dissing her coz her Glitter movie bombed (I actually liked the movie). Her voice is amazing. I was watching her Number1s dvd... you should watch the videos of Love takes time and Vision of love. she looks so gorguess and natural there but besides that...she did more with her voice then than shes doing now...I mean, in the video of Love takes time, she just jumps to this high note with out blinking and hits it perfectly. it gives me goosebumps. Vision of love was her first number1 single ever and the way she sings it on that dvd...i honestly get tears in my eyes! I just love her man! I wish she used her voice more now with her newer releases...like she did back then... but I still love her either way!

LeAnn Rhymes has a great voice too. Um...honestly I don't think there is a female that stands out in my mind. How do you judge the best when all the singers already listed, amonst others, can reach those octaves. If it's based off of just octave range then there's to many choices. You have to include other elements such as tone quality, ability to sing operetically (aka change notes throughout a scale or two at a vast pace.), dinamics (volume control, speech control). If it's just the octave that determines the best, I'm better then all of them. It won't sound pretty at all, but I'll still hit the notes.

Julie Andrews has about 5 octaves... Yeah, she's old, but check the pipes on that woman!!
Remember in Sound of Music- where she and the kids are singing "Do- a Deer"... where they're comming up the stairs? She starts jumping intervals... WOW!!
