I need to source a copy of 'Time in Animal Behavior' by M., Richelle & H., Lejeune from 1980 for my psychology module next term which is for my psychology degree. I have tried the usual places like eBay, Amazon along with several other online book stores but the book is out of print now apparently. Anyone got a copy they want to sell or know of where I could find one? Thanks!

Thankyou for the answers so far. Unfortunately I am still struggling to get this book (which I have to have according to my lecturer!) even though I have telephoned elsevier. They no longer print this book hence cannot supply it. Any other ideas?

The standard place to search for secondhand books is:-
http://www.abebooks. com
There are variants of this site for other countries e.g. abebooks.co.uk

At the time I posted this answer there was one copy advertised of the book you want (the description says it is "extremely scarce"). The bad news is that it is being offered by a bookshop in the United States for $95.00 (which translates into £51.86 if you are English like me) plus postage, which is more than most students I know would wish to pay.

Can you not borrow a copy through your university library? In the UK there is a scheme called Interlibrary Loan (ILL) whereby the library can get a copy of most books for you to look at even if your university does not have a copy. I think most universities overseas will have some similar arrangement.

I am not familiar with the book you refer to, but I studied the psychology of time in the late 1970s before taking quite a different career direction. This area has changed a lot since 1980 because we now have better techniques of physiological investigation and better computing to disentangle the complexities of the circadian rthyms that affect the ways animals and humans think and behave. I suspect you will want to have a pretty specialised interest in time and animal behaviour, such as a specifically relevant dissertation topic, before a 1980 text becomes essential to you.

But perhaps, I am cynical, you have a lecturer who learnt the subject in the 1980s and is referring to the books from her or his days as a research student! If the book is on the reading list for a module, I suggest the first thing you should do is go to see your the lecturer, tell her or him it is out of print, ask how necessary it is and if so where you can read it.

ask your course coordinator where to find a copy. if the book is not available anywhere, you get related information on the internet and compose your own notes.
