could be a deformation of "la romainerie", meaning a place previously occupied by Romans.
It also looks like the verb remanier which means "reshuffle" or "handle back" or sthg like that. The matching name is remaniement

It's not a French word, although it could be a proper noun. "Remanier" means to rearrange; it could be a misspelling of a derivative of that common word.
