I am 16, had acne since i was about 8 or 9. I am just about to start Roaccutane treatment (apparently the best medication for acne) but i have another problem that Roaccutane will not help.
Blackheads.
I have asked people what i can do to get rid of them, my mum just says wash twice a day (what does she think i do already) I have tried the nose strips, they do not work, i have tried facepacks that didnt work, face washes, blackhead scrubs, everything. Nothing has worked.
Has anyone got any advice?
Thanks!

soda bicarb is makes a good scrub for the skin. wet ur face and exfoliate with soda bicarb. u'll be amased at how soft ur skin feels afterwards!

make sure to tone your skin every time u cleanse it. if ur skin is oily u can use an astringent (stronger and alcohol based) instead of a toner.

pore tightening mask:

1 beaten egg white combined with 2tbsp lemon juice will make ur pores look really tight. leave on until the egg white dries on the face.

black head removing mask:

mis 2 tbsp lime juice, 1 tbsp glycerine and 2 tbsp rose water. apply to face and leave on for 30 min.

OR

make a mixture of 2tbsp milk, 2tbspn unflavoured gelatine, apply on face for 30 min and wash off (this is a good mask but has a strong smell)

all the best!

Try a facial sauna. The heat will open up your pores, then you may attempt to fish them out, although you might not be able to (blackheads are very stubborn). I had 3 and now I only have 2 but it's driving me mad at the moment. Once you opened up the pores with the facial sauna then you can also put undiluted tea tree oil on the blackheads. You just have to be patient and keep using your facial sauna to open the pores. Once they are all out, then you can look into using some products to make the pores of your skin smaller so that you don't get these nasties. A good way of shrinking your pores (after proper cleansing, exfoliating and scrubbing) is to mix a bit of magnesium carbonate powder with rose water and apply this paste onto your face, let it dry then wash it off.

Any peroxide based products will help. Like proactive (it actually works amazingly well). But I buy a product called Acne Free, it's a generic Proactive you can buy in the store, same thing. I don't have acne but I did have blackheads, but not anymore.

I just use the face wash in the shower once a day and they are all gone. But if you miss a couple of days you can see them again, so stay on top of it. The peroxide will bleach things like clothes and sheets so you have to be careful with it, that's why I just use it in the shower.

Use a facial scrub followed by a moisturiser. Make sure the facial scrub has micro beads in it to get rid of blackheads and for the acne, ask your doctor to give you Quinoderm. It will zap the acne away within 2-3 days! Trust me and Good Luck!

Roaccutane is so strong that it will blast the blackheads into submission.I was on Roac and also had blackheads and even thought they say that it does not target the blackheads, it will. All those " magical" blackhead solutions will not work as the problem is an internal chemical one that really needs prescription tablets and creams.Hope that alleviated your suffering!

Book yourself in to a beauty salon for a facial and your therapist will extract them for you, she will also go through a daily cleansing routine to help keep your skin clear. Tell her about the medication your on for your acne aswell. as she will be able to recommend a good cleansing lotion/scrub for it. but dont use any thing too harsh on your face as these will strip too much oil (sebum) out of your skin then it will work twice as hard and produce more which can then make the problem worse.

i have the same problem and only thing i can say - no need to go to beautician, she will remove them but the next day they all will be back with pores even larger. i suggest u use some soap free product for shrinking pores - i tried biotherm, it was ok for a while. also u might consider visiting cosmetologist for ultrasound cleaning procedure, but i don't know how old re u and how young u can start this procedure. anyway, it is not cheap

You have to let them dry out on their own. Try washing ONCE a day with apricot scrub for acne. Eventually they'll dry up and go away. Be patient! They won't fully leave for up to a year.

This is an easy one to answer.
Pop into your Chemist and get yourself a tub of E45 cream massage it into the area well a couple of times a day and "hey presto" they will be gone this is also good for ordinary spots and bites, good luck.
