My cat had to be put down last friday and we have had him crimated, we are burying him in our back garden and want a special plant to go there. His name was Harry so i'm looking for something along those lines that will last a long time, thank you so much.

sorry about your cat. we buried our 'Scruffy' under the birdbath where he used to sleep during the day, and planted 'scruffy clover' around the base.

You could plant Hairy Cat's Ear, which is kind of like a dandelion. Hairy - rhymes with Harry .. It's considered a noxious weed, but it's pretty.

Or, plant the plant that you always caught him near in the garden, some cats like to sleep under the rosemary, or in the longer grass..

Cat nip or Cat mint, would also be something you could enjoy to remember him by, they do give off a soothing aroma and are very attractive. (of course, if you decide to get another cat, it would be attracted to the nip and may even roll around in it .. which may disturb you..

Oh, I'm so sorry about your cat. I like your idea of having a special plant for him. I think the first suggestion someone put on here is good, or plant a tree. That would be nice because trees last a long time, plus it will a peaceful place. You could even hang a little plaque on the tree with his name on it.

How about this? (I'm sorry about your cat): Characteristics of Harry Lauder's Walking Stick : This shrub reaches a height of 8'-10', with a similar spread. The flowers of Harry Lauder's walking stick are yellowish-brown "catkins," as on pussy willows. The blooms appear in early to middle spring. However, this shrub is not grown primarily for its blooms but for its unusual branching pattern, which is indicated by its other common names: corkscrew filbert and contorted hazelnut. For as you can see from the picture, its branches contort themselves in every which way, resembing corkscrews.

God bless your cat!

What about a plant called either 'Bleeding heart' or 'Love lies bleeding' - it is a beautiful flowing shrub that covers itself in flowers that are red and heart shaped! It is really beautful and could maybe show Harry how much you loved him......

Puurrrrrrr

Buy a crepe myrtle tree. You can keep trimming it if you don't want it to be too tall. They are absolutely beautiful when they bloom and are very hardy. So sorry about your cat.

Why dont you look for a rose with his name in it. I'm sure they have a Prince Harry or something similar.
