My laptop is quite new but it has gotten quite slow because the hard drive is nearly full. I could just buy an external HDD, but I'm curious about getting a Mac instead.

Can someone tell me more about things that Macs do better than Windows (particularly media-related i.e. movies, pictures etc.)? Also, how is interoperability with Windows (I'm going to keep my laptop for working on the move)? Finally, how long would it take me to adjust to a Mac (I've used Windows for 12 years)

Mac OS - you'll get lesser error. Less prone to virus. Good pixels. You cannot just install any program though. But if your into investing for quality it's your decision.

Why don't you increase the hard drive. Delete unecessary files or programs. You can keep a soft copy of your important files to site that does storage or to a disc.

Dude, I've become used to a Mac in less than a month. To me, a Mac is much more simpler, and its user interface cares about the user. Expose allows you to spread out all your open windows evenly, which will be VERY helpful if you use Photoshop. iPhoto is the most efficient way to organize your photos, and even allows you to edit them as well.

Macs come with huge hard drives, so you should be safe. And they work with Windows machines just fine. The Safari browser is awesome, as well as iChat. Actually, alot of Mac versions of Windows programs work much smoothly here, such as Google Earth.

A Mac may cost a bit more than the average computer, but then again, a Mac is not average. You are paying for quality, and it is definitely a good investment towards the future. Ask me about other stuff if you want.

And when the hard drive on the MAC gets full, what are you going to do? Buy a Linux Laptop?

If you have an up to date and functional laptop, I personally would spend the $100 to get the drive rather than the $1000+ to get the MAC.

But that is just me...if you got the cash and the need to spend it, go for it. (Can a borrow a 20 till the second Tuesday of next week?)

Look, isn't it kind of obvious that you can answer this yourself? An external hard-drive to off-load your internal hard drive will cost you $150.00. Buying a new mac could cost $2000.00. Macs are way better for media, but I think the choice should be more obvious to you.

Mac is soo easy to use, the disadvantage is there is less feature/s, if your good in Windows then add hardware's that will boost it, I am a Tech. but my clients prefer Mac bec. they only use email and browse sites but if you do more than that then have windows. Its a personal choice though ...

Always the Best :)
