1) My mother recently had a brain tumor so I happen to know that $3000 wouldnt even begin to cover the cost of Chemo. In fact, it wouldnt even cover the cost of the diagnostic tests it took to discover the cancer in the first place.

2) If you are as broke as you say, every state has an indigent care program which would provide funding for people in your situation.

What do you really want the money for?

when people get sick in my home town we have a good old fashioned benefit- usually sponsored by their church or place of work. everyone comes to have BBQ and beer and donate like 20 bucks each- 150 people @ 20 each or 300 @10 each will be $3000 of free money- only works if you can get people to help you and donate food and stuff.

I am assuming insurance is not available or wont cover it so contact the hospital and ask them where to get the money or if they know how to get your state to pay for it.

sell some of your possessions- could you sell your car and take the bus to work

call charitable organizations like the red cross or catholic charities or something

go to a bank and plead your case- put up your car or house as co
