This foolishness of the USA attacking other countries must come to an end. The new reason to attack Iran is because they want to develop nukes. So what?
Countries develop nukes as a deterrent from invasion not as a weapon to invade another country. The only reason the USSR develop nukes was because they were afraid the USA was going to invade them, and the buzz in the USA after WWII was just that. The USSR feared the USA for just cause. Iran is in fear of the USA for just cause. I mean look, you all want to invade Iran. If you were in their place, wouldn't you want a few nukes?
Every country that has developed nuclear weapons has done so to protect their borders. No one will sent ground troops into a country that has nuclear capabilities. When the USSR developed nukes, we were sure that was going to be the end of the world. It wasn't. When Pakistan developed nukes, we were sure that was the end of the world. It wasn't.
Just listen to your own rhetoric here on Y!A. Do you think Iran has just cause to fear an invasion from the USA? It's so ironic that a president who was elected because of his morals turns out to have no morals at all.
Colin Powell for President! We need a man of reason.

Yes, the U.S. will attack Iran. The decision has already been made, it's just a matter of timing now. It won't happen before the congressional elections in November, but it will certainly happen within the next twelve months, and may well happen by the end of this year.

The only real question now is whether Bush will use nuclear weapons in the attack.

As for how this all ends, I see the middle east in flames. Millions will die, many regimes will be overthrown, and their replacements will not be friendly to the United States. By the time all is said and done, I foresee economic collapse, and the end of the U.S. as a superpower. If we're lucky, Russia and China will stay out of it all, and Israel will refrain from nuking everyone in sight. If we're unlucky... well, I'd just as soon not contemplate that.

The United States appears to have its hands full with Afghanistan and Iraq at the moment and I'm not sure we're ready to enter Iran and attempt a regime change like that of Iraq. That would only solidify the world's belief that the United States is truly a war-mongering country and that it is targeting Muslim nations. However, on the other hand it's not totally out of the question that the U.S. may get other countries behind it and cooperatively go into Iran and only target the known nuclear sites using airstrikes.

Well since the United States seems to be about the very wealthy and empowered such that the working class must go to war to die for them to get richer and they want to close up the oil market like they have capped wells in the US to drive up prices and profits I would say since the Petroleum Industry has more say so than voters and they want to own the oil in the Middle East also so we live in the streets just to pay for gasoline to go to work..it is highly probable that we shall all die for their greed.

I say yeah for the pointed finger at the intelligence group that supplied the bogus motive for the last time as a guise for raising oil prices and hostility in the world also.

I don't think it's going to happen.....

The Russians and Chinese would veto any military action against Iran because they have trade interests there and the U.S. has to be careful Iran has said they have something like 40,000 suicide bombers ready to retaliate plus there are forces in Iraq and Afghanistan who would be at risk from attack.

I only feel bad, for those people, who don't have enough sense
to dispose of the Ruling Council in Iran. After its over, the World
will go on to become a safer place.

If Bush don't do that, which I doubt he will do, the next president of US will not like to do that, because attacking Iran will pose a big danger to the influence that USA is enjoying now.

The same group of people that supplied the intelligence for the war in Iraq is being reconstituted over at the Pentagon.

amiram - below says US-IraN war would most likely be limited --let me quote his REALISTIC analysis "it will also create turmoil in the Muslim world but that would be limited"

it seems so, yes I think it's going to happen, but it will be limited to air strikes and missile attack on strategic sites.
Hopefully it will destabilize the Orthodox regime in Iran. it will also create turmoil in the Muslim world but that would be limited.
